Marion paid a visit to the Island of Lewis amid winter blizzards and freezing temperatures. Mary Ferguson of the Leabharlainn nan Eilean Siar (Western Isles Library Service) arranged a warm room with comfortable chairs and excellent refreshments to help make this Meet the Author evening a small but most enjoyable event. Present in the audience were Graham Starmore from Windfall Press who had provided invaluable help with the production of Eight of Cups and Pat, a former NHS colleague from the island.

The audience were interested to hear about two minor characters - Kirsty Mary and Maggie - who came from the Isle of Lewis. They were also intrigued to learn how Marion and Elaine could write together at such a distance, when Marion was living on the island in Ranish and Elaine in Fife.
